Looks like your lap times will be improved.
I went with the Falken Azenis FK-510+ on mine, 225/45-17 and 255-40-17. I haven’t found the limits yet :)

I can’t wait to see how quick I can autocross it this weekend. Last time I had RE71Rs, I couldn’t find an upper grip limit. They grip so well that they actually caused the suspension to fall out of alignment.
How much power is yours making? Mine has the stock NA motor so I can still class in Street Touring; “power oversteer” doesn’t exist.

Impressive! Are you planning on keeping these solely for track use? I toyed with the idea of getting some for my Miata, but 8k street miles out of one set versus 30k miles out of Michelin PSS made me rethink.

Gen4 3S-GTE swap, standard intake/intercooler/downpipe/exhaust, 17PSI , LSD, 93+ brakes Konis and Eibachs. Haven’t had it dyno’d but without a turbo upgrade it should be sitting at about 250 at the wheels. The Yoko S.Drives I had before were the definition of power oversteer. They were awful, but they were also old.

Before I got my first set of RE71Rs last year, I ran S.Drives. They gripped okay for the first autocross but grip worsened over the life of the tire.
250 to the wheels is about 2x what mine’s probably putting to the wheels. Was the swap a lot of work?

I’m very ready to get a 2nd set (all season) for street use. Dailying on autoX tires gets me maybe 8-9k miles, while autocrossing on all-seasons got me 7k miles on this latest set. With a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty.
Moral of the story? Use tires for their intended application and they’ll last way longer hahahah.

It’s pretty much bolt-in at this point. Wiring from WireGap, fuel line, throttle linkage, intercooler lines, intake, downpipe are all stocked items at lots of specialists. I actually did the swap in a 1-stall apartment garage. Uses stock motor mounts, clutch, flywheel, transmission (either S54 or E153, but the E153 will handle the power better)
The wiring harness is what makes it work easily - Doug at WireGap make it plug and play.

YES. These are absurd fun, especially in that sweet spot of
“tire mold has burnt off” and “still new tho.”
